About

What I’ve learned.

Pension Specialist

1985-1999 | THE GREAT-WEST LIFE ASSURANCE COMPANY

During my time at GWL, my job was to acquire corporate pension clients working through pension consulting firms and benefits brokers.

I learned how to work with Actuaries and Portfolio Managers. I learned how pension funds invest their money and why individuals should do the same. I learned the inner workings of one of Canada’s largest life insurance companies and where it made its money. I learned what it meant to work for a member company of Power Financial, a Canadian financial power house, owner of Great-West Life, London Life, Canada Life, Investors Group, Mackenzie Investments and now Wealth Simple.

Financial Advisor

1999-PRESENT | TENZING PENSION & INVESTMENT SERVICES INC.

In 1999, I achieved my life long goal to become self-employed. I incorporated Tenzing Pension & Investment Services Inc. to serve the corporate market. I started working with employees of these companies helping them plan for retirement.

I learned to keep financial plans simple – to forego the spreadsheets. I learned how to get people the type of life insurance they need. I learned that some people really are better off doing it themselves.
